Francis is an experienced coach, consultant and trainer specialising in delivering Motivational Interviewing, (M.I.), training and consultation in strategic and operational co-production and patient involvement. He has been training people since 2005 and is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers, (MINT). Francis started out as a therapist in drug and alcohol services before going on to coordinate education, training and employment opportunities for people completing treatment. In 2005, Francis became a full-time trainer for Addaction and co-created the innovative NEXT Project, an intensive foundation course in substance misuse work for ex service users. He also worked as a trainer on the SMARTScheme, diploma course in Health & Social Care/Substance Misuse, specialising in Personal Development, Active Listening Skills, Motivational Interviewing and the Bio-Chemistry of Substance Misuse.
Francis is a founder member, trustee and training manager for Inspirit Training & Development Ltd, a community benefit organisation that deliver staff and service user training, consultation and coordination for the co-production of commissioning and service provision. Inspirit work with many local authority, substance misuse teams in central London. In 2014 Inspirit secured a contract with NHS England Health in the Justice System to implement the Patient & Public Voice initiative across all London’s secure establishments. Working from the NHS Framework Document, Francis designed the baseline assessment for patient involvement and co-created the subsequent improvement plan. He went on to coordinate the implementation of the plan in partnership with the prison regimes, health care providers, service users and commissioning team. During this time he was also the coordinator for Islington Clients of Drug & Alcohol Services, (ICDAS). Francis is now the Training Manager for Inspirit and a freelance trainer of M.I.
Francis is available for M.I. training at all levels, individual consultations, Online training and one to one sessions and as a consultant and trainer for organisations needing a strategy for 
managing the co-production of their services. Francis is the owner/operator of the “Walkinginspirit” mindful walking retreat and Intuitive Team Building & Ideas retreat in Somiedo Natural Park, Asturias Spain and was featured in the Guardian’s Top Ten Meditation Retreats in Europe publication in 2019.
